A LOS Angeles judge granted Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst a temporary restraining order against a Frenchman accused of stalking her.
Jean Christophe Prudhon, 51, was ordered to stay at least 90 metres away from the "Spider-Man" star, her home and her place of work. He was also instructed to stop trying to get in touch with her, entertainment website TheWrap reported citing details from court documents.
Prudhon had shown up at the Toluca Lake, California home of Kirsten Dunst's mother, Inez, last Saturday, asking to see the actress, according to a declaration filed by the elder Dunst.
The Frenchman sent "dozens of letters at my home, describing his obsession with my daughter," Inez Dunst said in the declaration, adding that the letters were "frightening and harassing," and that Prudhon was "clearly mentally ill."
In one of the letters submitted to the court with the petition, Prudhon wrote that he sold his home in France to finance his trip to the US to meet the actress.
A hearing is scheduled for December 21 to determine whether Kirsten Dunst should be granted a three-year restraining order against Prudhon.
