Justin Bieber, the Auctioneer

Justin Bieber in Dolce & Gabbana.

Justin Bieber hopped onto a Manhattan stage Thursday night, grabbed a microphone and tried out a new profession — auctioneer.

Pencils of Promise, an organization that has built more than 50 schools in Laos, Nicaragua and Guatemala, was holding an auction during its first fund-raiser and the prize was the privilege of playing basketball against a Hollywood pick-up team, including Bieber and Shaquille O’Neal at O’Neal’s home gym. The auctioneer had gotten the bidding up to $20,000 a head when Bieber took over with the news that his pal Usher had agreed to play and, therefore, the cost of entry had just gone up. The pop sensation then proceeded to coax the numbers upward — from $20,000 to $25,000 a head, before turning the mic back to the auction pro. However, his impromptu performance was good enough for Adam Braun, the organization’s founder and executive director, who said in an amazed tone, “we just raised $100,000. That will build four schools.”

The fund-raising peaked when Robert Hollander, co-chairman of Give Back Brands, agreed to match dollar for dollar the rest of the donations for the evening — up to $500,000. He said later that his goal was to hit $500,000, raising the jackpot for the night to an even $1 million. Hollander and Paul West had set up their company as a springboard for raising money for charity. Their first project was Bieber’s first woman’s fragrance. Bieber’s manager, Scott “Scooter” Braun, is Adam Braun’s brother and received one of the awards (an enlarged, fat pencil) for his role in raising money to support the organization’s mission. Bieber, who raised nearly $300,000 by donating $1 from each ticket during the second half of his 2010 concert tour, was the top honoree. The evening took on a cozy family vibe when he and the Braun brothers talked about their friendship. After thanking his mother and grandfather for the loving upbringing they gave him, the 17-year-old superstar praised the Brauns for helping him make his life better. “I got a lot of tips about girls,” he said.

Case tossed against accused Selena Gomez stalker

LOS ANGELES -- A judge on Wednesday dismissed a criminal case against a man charged with stalking Selena Gomez, saying he did not believe prosecutors had shown he intended to cause the actress and singer to be afraid.

The dismissal will free Thomas Broadnicki, 46, who was charged earlier this month with stalking Gomez between July and October.

The starlet was not present for Wednesday's preliminary hearing during which a prosecutor attempted to show there was probable cause for Brodnicki to stand trial.

Brodnicki has a history of mental illness and was being held on $150,000 bail after his arrest on Oct. 31. Mental health workers had notified authorities that he had threatened to kill the starlet while on a psychiatric hold.

"We strenuously objected" to the dismissal, district attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said. She said Superior Court Judge Edmund Willcox Clarke Jr. ruled Brodnicki "did not have the intent to cause fear."

Gibbons said the office is evaluating its options, which could include re-filing the case at a later date.

A civil restraining order requiring Brodnicki to stay 100 yards away from Gomez remains in place. A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 23 to determine whether the stay-away order will remain in place for the next three years.

Gomez, 19, wrote in a sworn declaration that she is in "extreme fear" of Brodnicki.

Brodnicki was represented by Deputy Public Defender Nick Stewart-Oaten, who did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.

Justin Bieber's Alleged Baby Mama BUSTED!!!

Justin Bieber's alleged baby mama sent a text Wednesday to a friend, begging him to erase an incriminating text in which her mom says someone OTHER than Justin Bieber is the baby daddy, and then promising to give him a cut of the action when she scores a payday.

The person to whom Mariah Yeater sent the text asked us to blur his name -- we'll call him John.  He has been in touch with Yeater regularly ... even before the baby was born on July 6.

In the text, Yeater pleads for John to "ERASE ALL MESSAGES from my mom." The text goes on to say that her mom sent John messages in the past, stating that baby Tristyn was fathered by Robbie -- an ex-boyfriend.

She then goes on to talk about giving John money if he cooperates:  "Ill kick u when we get paid."

All of her texts end with Mariah Laci-- Laci is Mariah's middle name. And TMZ has seen many other texts between Mariah and John.  In one text, Mariah writes, "[John], would you please stress to Robbie how important it is for him to be in his son's life?.."  Apparently, Mariah forgot about this text, because she didn't ask John to erase it.

John tells us he's already shared this information with Howard Weitzman, Justin Bieber's lawyer.

Weitzman tells TMZ, "This information proves Mariah Yeater fabricated the story.  Our independent investigation indicates Ms. Yeater never meet Justin, she has consistently identified another man as the child's father, and Ms. Yeater and her co-conspirators hatched this scheme in order to extort money from him and to sell her story to the media."

The Justin Bieber baby saga keeps on going

JUST hours after it was reported that Mariah Yeater had dropped the paternity lawsuit against Justin Bieber, her newly appointed lawyer has declared that the case is still very much alive.

The 20-year-old baby mama's new attorney, Jeffrey Leving, has told TMZ he firmly believes his client's allegation that Bieber is the father of her four-month-old son and they will push on with their mission to get the singer to take a DNA test.

Leving claims Yeater dismissed the lawsuit to open the door for a private settlement and avoid a "media circus".

"We want privacy," Leving told ET, "and we want to wrap this up."

"The case is completely out of control and I don’t want something terrible to happen to my client or her child."

Leving said Yeater is still recieving death threats and is being constantly stalked, but has still been coping as well as "a 20-year-old woman with no money and no job" can.

As for the Bieber's threats that he will counter-sue, Leving told the gossip website it was just another example of a celebrity trying to push around the little guy.

Ms Yeater claims she got pregnant after having sex with Bieber, then 16, while backstage at one of his concerts in Los Angeles in October 2010.

Bieber vehemently denies the allegations, saying he has never met Ms Yeater. He is reportedly prepared to take a paternity test to prove he is not the father.

He also plans to sue Ms Yeater and her lawyers for making a bogus claim.

Bieber, who is dating Disney starlet Selena Gomez, hired crisis management guru Matthew Hiltzik of Hiltzik Strategies to help manage the scandal.

Yeater had claimed on CBS show The Insider that Bieber immediately took a liking to her after his concert at the Staples Centre and asked if they could go somewhere.

She claimed that once in a backstage bathroom, "his whole demeanour changed. It went from cute and gushy to just more aggressive." She added that the sex lasted 30 seconds.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are expecting a little girl.

According to X Factor judge Kelly Rowland, Beyonce and Jay-Z are expecting a little girl.

Talking at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards in London, Rowland commented that she doesn’t know what she is going to buy for the couple’s baby shower as “Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible.”

Talk about letting the cat out of the bag.

Although there is still a chance that it could have just been Kelly’s turn of phrase, you have to admit that it is a pretty good indicator that unless Beyonce has been coaxing her friend to put the public off the scent the couple will soon be bringing the next generation of Destiny’s Child into the world.

Kelly also mentioned that she will definitely be playing a big part in Beyonce’s growing family, saying how happy she is for the pair and that she is always available for babysitting duties when they need her.

Justin Bieber has denied pregnancy allegations

Justin Bieber has denied allegations he fathered a child in a backstage bathroom and says he has never met the woman who filed the paternity suit against him.

"To set the record straight, none of it is true," the 17-year-old teen heartthrob declared Friday during a brief appearance on NBC's "Today" show.

As mobs of fans screamed adoringly in Rockefeller Plaza, Bieber called it "crazy" that anyone would make up such a story.

"I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim," Bieber told "Today" host Matt Lauer. "It's crazy, because every night after the show I've gone right from the stage right to my car. So it's crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations."

The singer attracted what appeared to be hundreds of fans as he briefly chatted with the "Today" hosts, straining to be heard above the earsplitting screams.

The paternity suit was filed in San Diego Superior Court by Mariah Yeater earlier this week. She had just turned 19 when she says she and Bieber, then 16, had a brief sexual encounter after one of the singer's concerts last fall at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

She said she gave birth to a boy in July and believes Bieber is the father because there were no other possible men she had sex with at that time.

Asked if he knows Yeater, Bieber told Lauer, "Never met the woman."

Yeater is asking a judge for child support and a paternity test. A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 15. Her lawyer has described her as a stay-at-home mother who is looking for adequate child support if a paternity test determines Bieber is the father.

Meanwhile, in Las Vegas on Friday, court records revealed that Yeater faces a bench trial Dec. 12 on a misdemeanor battery charge that could get her six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. She has pleaded not guilty in the case.

A police report says Yeater, who attended high school in Las Vegas, slapped her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend on Dec. 21, 2010. The two were arguing about a window broken on the car of his new girlfriend.

And in Los Angeles, police have said Yeater could be investigated for having had sex with a minor in connection with the Bieber claim. It's illegal in California to have sex with someone under age 18. If the other person is not more than three years older, it is a misdemeanor, which carries up to a one-year jail sentence.

Along with knocking down rumors, Bieber's "Today" appearance was apparently timed to the release of a Christmas album.

"It's hard to record a Christmas album in September," he said.

Bieber returns to "Today" for a live musical appearance on Nov. 23.

ick Ross says he hasn't had a good night's sleep in 5 years

Rick Ross says he hasn't had a good night's sleep in 5 years -- and claims the lack of sleep is what caused him to suffer two seizures in a matter of hours last month.

Ross appeared on BET's "106 & Park" today ... his first interview since he battled through a pair of mid-air seizures back on October 14. Ross says his doctors tested him for cancer, diabetes, HIV and more ... but the tests revealed the rapper is "totally healthy."

In the end, Ross says, "It was a case of me not getting enough rest, enough sleep" ... but now, The Boss says he's making sure to leave room for naps.

Justin Bieber's legal team is ready to strike

Justin Bieber's legal team is ready to strike over allegations the singer impregnated a 20-year-old woman ... allegations that Team Bieber claims are "malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false."

The woman in question reportedly filed a paternity suit against Justin, claiming she boned the underage singer backstage at one of his L.A. concerts ... and left with an embryonic party favor.

But a rep for Justin tells TMZ, "While we haven't yet seen the lawsuit, it's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims."

The rep adds, "We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

Serena Williams locked in Panic Room Over Drug Test Mix-Up

Serena Williams  went into total lockdown last week -- fleeing to a panic room inside her L.A. mansion after security cameras picked up a suspected intruder ... but it was all a case of mistaken identity.

Law enforcement sources said, Serena's assistant called 911 around 6AM last Wednesday, reporting a possible burglar or prowler. It was so serious, we're told Serena retreated to her panic room for safe keeping in case things got dangerous.

But we're told, it was a false alarm -- the person on Serena's security camera was a random drug tester for an unspecified tennis association, stopping by Serena's pad unannounced for some pee.

Police rushed to the scene after the 911 call, but quickly figured out the mistake. It's unclear if Serena eventually submitted to a pee test. Attempts to reach her reps were unsuccessful.

DMX sentenced himself to hard labor yesterday

DMX sentenced himself to hard labor yesterday, relieving a lowly Waffle House employee from mop duty ... and performing the filthy chore himself!

The photos were snapped at a WH in Greenville, South Carolina -- where the rapper stopped in for some late night eats .. after a Halloween party at a nearby strip club.

The rapper tells us, one of the workers -- who was mopping the floors at the time -- said he was a big fan ... and X was so touched, he grabbed the mop and finished the guy's job for him.

The Dog tells us, "I was in a good mood and felt that I would do that for him since it was 4am and [the employee] had been working all night."

The rapper adds, "The minute you get too big to mop a floor or wipe a counter, that’s the exact minute you have life f**ked up."

Michael Jackson's Doctor says he will not testify in his own defence

The doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death says he will not testify in his own defence.

Dr Conrad Murray told a judge about his decision during a court proceeding outside the presence of jurors.

Murray had left the possibility open that he might take the witness stand on, telling Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor on Monday that he had not yet made a final decision.

The judge had advised Murray of his constitutional rights to testify or to remain silent.

Testimony may conclude in the case on Tuesday with jurors hearing from medical experts.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jackson's June 2009 death. He could face up to four years behind bars and the loss of his medical licence if convicted.

Meanwhile, two of Jackson's siblings have revealed they tried to intervene to prevent his drug abuse but could not get close to their brother because of his security team.

Tito and Rebbie Jackson say the family was aware of Michael's drug problem.

Tito Jackson says his late brother's security team acted as if he was the US president and kept his family away.

He says he got into physical fights with security personnel and was sometimes barred from his brother's gated property.

The two Jacksons were in London to promote Wednesday's premiere of a documentary about his life.
Their mother Katherine Jackson cancelled her trip to London to attend the final days of the Los Angeles trial.

Tom Cruise is Back

Tom Cruise Bounce Back
Tom Cruise is looking a little older - at last - but, if the 20 minutes of the latest Mission Impossible shown to Perth critics yesterday is any guide, the world's most famous couch-jumper hasn't lost his action-hero chops.

In keeping with the blockbuster series' taste for exotic locations, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol sees Cruise's secret agent Ethan Hunt and his crew (bolstered by the addition of Hurt Locker Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner) attempt to break into the world's tallest building, Dubai's Burj Khalifa.

Fitted out with electronic gloves which give the wearer Spider-Man-type climbing ability, Ethan swings between floors of the soaring structure, slipping and sliding and threatening to sail off into the sands of the Arabian Peninsula.

It's nothing new to see Cruise doing his Peter Parker routine. However, to see him high above Dubai in broad daylight instead of Hong Kong by night is startling, with the crystal-clear digital cinematography giving us a view of the desert kingdom that's worth the price of admission alone.
The sneak preview also reveals that incoming director Brad Bird, one of the resident geniuses of Pixar (he did The Incredibles and Ratatouille), has bought a classical style to the action sequences, a refreshing break from the extreme close-up/fast cutting intensity of the game-changing Bourne series.

Rihanna has been hospitalised in Sweden.

hospitalized Rihanna
The singer – who is currently on a world tour – has been hooked up to a drip at a Swedish medical institution and has been forced to cancel a performance in the city of Malmo in the south of the country after being stricken with the flu.

In a statement, the 23-year-old singer added she was "really disappointed" she could not perform.

According to TMZ.com, she said: "I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo. I was so excited to perform for you all. It would have been a great time. So much better than being sick with the flu, ugh. I'm really disappointed I couldn’t be there."

A representative for concert promoter Live Nation added she was "not in condition to conduct the concert'.
Rihanna is not the only star to be forced to cancel a planned concert recently – George Michael had to pull out of a gig at London's Royal Albert Hall after he was diagnosed with a viral infection, leaving him with a high temperature.

Beyonce throws a 'Party' with Kelly Rowland, sis Solange

Beyonce has released yet another music video, this time featuring the track "Party" from her new album "4." And there are several things we need to say about it.

To those feverish baby-bump skeptics who suspect that Mrs. Jay-Z is embellishing, or altogether faking, her pregnancy: Calm down. The pop star looks svelte in the "Party" video because it -- in all of its trailer-park sultriness -- was shot during the first week of August.

Secondly, let's repeat: trailer-park sultriness. In a glorious mess of fanny packs, headpieces, blender drinks, dice-throwing and dance circles, Beyonce reminds us that even without elaborate choreography, high fashion or cinematic elements she brings one heck of a party.

J. Cole guests, and old friends including B's sister Solange Knowles and former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland show up for the festivities, which were shot in an actual trailer park.

Sushil Kumar becomes first contestant in the show's history to bag the titular jackpot.

The fifth season of the Hindi version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (Kaun Banega Crorepati) saw history made with contestant Sushil Kumar winning the 50 million rupees ($1 million) jackpot.
Just a minute with Amitabh Bachchan
'Millionaire' heading for China

Hosted by Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, the ongoing season airs on Sony Entertainment Television's flagship Hindi channel. Kumar comes from a small town in Bihar state in eastern India, where he works for a government agency earning a meager 6,000 rupees every six months as a computer data entry operator. He becomes the first contestant to win the $1 million jackpot since the show upped its prize from 10 million rupees two seasons ago.

In 2000, during KBC's second season – which at the time aired on Star India's Star Plus channel – the show saw its first winner in Harshvardhan Nawathe, who won the 10 million-rupee jackpot.

“It feels like a dream  for someone who hasn’t seen anything beyond a couple of thousand rupees as his salary,” said Kumar, who plans to use his winnings to study further and buy a house for his extended family. “Maybe I’ll believe this when I actually watch the episode with my family on TV,” he added.

The episode featuring his win will air on Nov. 2.

“This is what the common man is all about. This is what KBC is all about -- given an opportunity, the common man has the strength, the ability and the acumen to prove to the world that he is the best and second to none,” the 69-year-old Bachchan wrote on his popular blog.

“The entire place just exploded. The family of Sushil Kumar, the contestant, not prone to any kind of public jubilation, ran on to the floor of the set in uncontrollable joy and screams and tears of happiness, whilst the live audience were whooping it up on their feet with the loudest scream I have ever heard in this 11-year association with KBC,” added Bachchan.

Ajay, Kajol and kids off to Dubai on holiday

Kajol and husband Ajay Devgn have apparently taken off to Dubai on a holiday along with their kids Nysa and Yug.

The Devgn family are apparently on a break, enjoying their Diwali holidays in Dubai. The outing is strictly a family affair, which is probably why Kajol and Ajay did not make it to Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One's Dubai première even though they were in Dubai at that time.

It must be recalled here that Kajol and Shahrukh had been very good friends in the past. However, the two have reportedly fallen apart and do not interact much with each other anymore.

However, common friend Karan Johar attended the event and had even posted positive reviews on the film Ra.One.

Obama and Leno talk Kardashians, Roscoe's Chicken

On Tuesday, President Obama made his fourth visit to "The Tonight Show." He and Jay Leno mostly stuck to meaty topics, such as the recent death of Libyan dictator Moammar Kadafi ("I think it obviously sends a strong message around the world to dictators that people long to be free") and his proposed solution to the stagnant job market ("There are some roads that could be fixed").

Eventually, though, their conversation turned to lighter subjects.

Obama spoke highly of his recent visit to Roscoe's House of Chicken 'n Waffles in West Los Angeles, where he ordered the No. 9 Country Boy special. Back in his limo, Obama gave in to the enticing aroma of the wings, even though he was on his way to a splashy fund-raising dinner. "I didn't realize it was so close. Suddenly, we pull up and I've got a spot on my tie, and I'm looking for one of those Wet Ones. It was not elegant," he said.

Leno asked what the first lady, an outspoken advocate of healthy eating, thought about the calorie-laden meal. "Michelle loves french fries, she loves pizza. Her point is, just in moderation," he explained.

However, the Obamas do disagree when it comes to Halloween. "The last few years she's been giving kids fruits and raisins. I said, The White House is gonna get egged if this keeps up."

Leno broached another highly controversial topic: "The Kardashians." "You recently said that you don't like the girls watching 'The Kardashians'?" he asked.

"I am probably a little biased against reality TV, partly because there's this program on C-SPAN called 'Congress,'" he joked, admitting that he had not actually seen any of the various Kardashian-related televisions shows. "Do you recommend it, Jay?"

Now it was Leno's turn to dodge the question. "It's a wonderful show...I don't know..." he stammered. (Apparently both the president and Jay Leno fear the wrath of the Kardashians.)

Speaking of reality television, Leno asked the president if he'd watched any of the GOP debates. He said he wasn't paying much attention to them -- yet.  "I'm going to wait until everybody's voted off the island."

Michael Lohan Arrested AGAIN

Michael Lohan was just arrested AGAIN in Florida after allegedly contacting his girl friend Kate Major -- and law enforcement said, he tried to escape by jumping a 3rd-story balcony.

According to law enforcement sources, Tampa police responded to a call early this morning from Kate, who claimed Michael had been trying to contact her by phone and wouldn't leave her alone.

We're told officers interviewed Kate at her apartment after she made the call -- the same apartment where Michael allegedly bruised her up earlier this week -- and while they were there, Michael allegedly called again.

According to law enforcement, officers believed Michael was a "threat" -- so they rolled up to his hotel to arrest him.

But here's the crazy part -- law enforcement said, Michael tried to escape by hopping his 3rd story balcony ... and he ended up falling into a tree.

After officers pulled him down, Michael was placed under arrest for violating a condition of his pretrial release (presumably for contacting Kate) ... and resisting arrest without violence.

Michael currently back in custody -- at the same jail he was released from less than twelve hours ago.
