Faze leads a role in Acting

With music not attracting much acclaim to him at present, singer, Chibuzor ‘Faze’ Orji, has made a detour into movies. Thus, when the Amstel Malta Box Office, AMBO-produced movie, Alero’s Symphony, premieres next Thursday at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, Lagos, Faze will be one of the actors to watch out for alongside tested thespians like Bimbo Manuel, Jibola Dabo, Matilda Obaseki and winner of the 2009 AMBO, Ivie Okujaiye. Faze, who is one of the lead acts in the movie, describes the experience as exciting.

He told Entertainment Talks, “I learnt a lot from everyone on the project. Acting is really fun and I thank Amstel Malta for giving me the platform to exhibit my hidden talent – a talent I never knew I possess.”

Privileged sources that have seen the movie describe it as a musical in the mould of Inale. The former member of defunct Plantation Boys has not been enjoying a good run in the music circuit in recent time. In fact, his last two singles, Relate and Gear One, tanked badly. The fact that the videos were shot in South Africa could not even salvage the songs. The two singles are off the reed-thin vocalist’s forthcoming album, his fourth actually, which was billed for release last December but has yet to see the light of day. Another new single, Best of the Best, featuring his former collaborators, Tuface and Blackface, did not also return him to the top of the chat. This has attracted posers as to whether he would be able to reprise the successes that trailed his past albums, Faze Alone, Independent and Originality.
